PANDORAed

I received a request from the National Library of Australia's electronic archive - PANDORA - seeking permission to archive Magellan...
Quote:
The National Library of Australia aims to build a comprehensive collection of Australian publications to ensure that Australians have access to their documentary heritage now and in the future. The Library has traditionally collected items in print, but it is also committed to preserving electronic publications of lasting research and cultural value.

PANDORA, Australia's Web Archive, was set up by the Library in 1996 to enable the archiving and provision of long-term access to online Australian publications. Since then we have been identifying online publications and archiving those that we consider have national significance. Additional information about PANDORA can be found on the Library's server at: http://pandora.nla.gov.au/index.html

That's pretty cool - and of course I said yes. It means that if Graphic Smash ever goes down the gurgler and I'm run over by a bus that Magellan will at least live on in perpetuity!

  • Not that anybody´s looking forward to Stretch & Clobber mistaking you for Wombat-Man! ;-)

But really, that´s pretty cool. Congrats, man.
(Hey, Congrats-Man, now THERE´s an idea for a super-hero. Hired by major corporations as a PR guy to speak positively of them to the press...)

  • Thanks!

The Man Who Can more or less got his genesis out of a "now THERE'S a name for a super hero" conversation with a friend...!
